My essential question... How can we improve the way we transport goods and people? Would it make a difference if we transported good by trains instead of truck and if people could bike ride or take public transport to work/school instead of driving cars? I find out... People are adding different types of greenhouse gases into our atmosphere and one gas's effect on climate change depends on three main factors: How long? Some of the greenhouse gases can stay in the atmosphere for a long, long time but some can only be in there for a short time. How much? Some people produce more greenhouse gases than others. Carbon dioxide is the biggest greenhouse gas that is produce by people and it is responsible for most global warming. How powerful? Some greenhouse gases trap more heat then others and some greenhouse gases trap hardly any heat.

BIODEGRADABLE At the end of its useful life, wool can be returned to the soil, where it decomposes, releasing valuable nutrients into the ground. When a natural wool fibre is disposed of in soil, it takes a very short time to break down, whereas most synthetics are extremely slow to degrade.

My essential Question is: How does landfill effect the environment and how can we stop it?
Landfill is very bad. It gives out a gas Called Landfill gas.
Landfill gas is not the only gas around there is also Methane gas and Natural gas.
Landfill gas is about 40-60 % Methane gas. Natural gas is roughly 80-99 % Methane gas.
Methane gas is Highly toxic and very explosive. Methane gas is also generated in cows stomachs.
There is also a liquid called Leachate. Leachate is a liquid formed in the landfill sites. It is created by the waste that breaks down in the landfill. This liquid is highly toxic and can pollute the land and water.
How we can stop landfill.
Waste reduction starts at the supermarket and the shops. By making slight changes to your shopping list you can reduce the amount of waste created around your home. By using your own shopping bags and buying reusable products you can reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill.
